While almost everyone has heard of and is an expert in ASO’s older cousin Search Engine Optimization, few are well versed in ASO. The basics are simple and similar to SEO. Think of what happens when you go to the App Store and begin to search for a certain app or an app on a particular subject. What happens? Just like when you type something in to your favorite search engine, options begin to pop up before you even finish typing. That is because the word or words you searched for are keywords the engine looks for.

App Store Optimization comes down to two different variables. The first and most important is the name of the app itself. This is where ASO differs from SEO. If you are starting a blog, who really cares what you name is. Sure it needs to be catchy and easy to remember but what really matters is the content of the site. That’s not the case with ASO. Because the store begins to search for keyword matches first in the name of apps that actually is very important. For example if you were to go to the App Store right now and search for a Scientific Calculator app, when you type in the word Scientific it is already searching for apps that include that word in their name. Adding the second part of the search will narrow it even more to the apps that have Scientific Calculator in their name.

While it’s true that the name is the first thing the App Store looks for when fulfilling the search needs of a customer, it’s not the only thing that matters. Each app also has a description as you have all seen no doubt. Putting key words into this description that let the store know your app deals with Scientific Calculators, will only help the app get noticed faster. The moral is that you should pay attention to what keywords are best for your market. Then you should give a nice simple name that includes such words and include them in your description as well.

Mobile App Development: Fun or Business

Blog

Entertainment

app store

applications

apps

business

developer

iOS

iphone

iphone mobile app development

mobile

mobile app development

mobile application development

release
<guid

You only have to go down somewhere in the top ten paid apps to find the first business-like app. In the top free the entertainment oriented apps are far more dominant, taking up entire top 25. Its more of the same in the top grossing section where apps for fun take up the majority of the top 25 there as well.

It has been said that you don’t need to create an app to be successful rather hundreds. Cloud computing is a whirlwind that is taking over online platforms so easily that most don’t even know they are using it. Do you enjoy checking your email on your home computer then checking it again on your iPhone or iPad? That’s what cloud computing brings you.
<div

No matter if you are planning to play your favorite game or writing a post for a certain awesome blog, the option to work on any platform at any time would sell us in a minute. As we go forward into the future of mobile platforms and apps of all types, don’t be surprised when nearly everything in use involves cloud computing.

Why the IPv6 Change Matters for Mobile

Blog

android

apps

developer

google

iOS

ipv6

mobile

mobile app development

programmer

→

By now you might have heard that what Google called the new version of the internet is being rolled out. Yesterday was the big day, officially dubbed ‘IPv6 Launch Day’. If you are reading this then that means nothing dramatic changed for most of us. The question you might be asking then is what does the IPv6 switch mean to you? Or perhaps you would ask what it means for mobile owners? Well it’s a good thing you asked because we just happen to have the answers to those questions.

The main idea is that the internet is running out of room. If you’ve ever walked into a party or other type of gathering where a room was overcrowded, you know how the new IP addresses feel. It might sound mellow dramatic to put it that way but some sources say we only have about 1200 days before no room is left. That’s why the change is needed. The internet protocol currently being used, IPv4, is quickly spending the last remaining of it’s 4.3 billion unique spaces for IP addresses. When the new protocol, IPv6, is fully online there will be 340 undecillion unique spaces. For those who are excited about seeing numbers its 4,300,000,000 for IPv4 and 360,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 for the new IPv6. That’s quite a difference. Using the party scenario, this means all of the new IP addresses issued on IPv6 will be like throwing your own party where there is plenty of room for everyone and anyone.

But what does it mean for mobile owners? It’s pretty simple really. Every mobile device has a unique IP address. Even appliances now have IP addresses of their own. This doesn’t even consider the new devices we do and do not know about that will also need space. We love rolling out new apps and seeing great apps as much as anyone. We want to continue to watch others enjoy great new devices and great new apps and continue enjoying them ourselves. For this to happen into the future decade, the IPv6 protocol is needed. The good news is as long as the switch is being handled correctly now by most of the major players among internet providers and mobile providers, we should get to keep enjoying great apps on our mobile devices well into the future.

What makes a great mobile app?

Blog

mobile app development

mobile application development
<guid

Well, not ONLY profits, but they certainly help. Well, we consider our first application, quite succesful. Today In History, has been around for quite a long time, and for several versions, but it has always been a people pleaser (though not without some service hiccups) and the latest iteration is even better than ever. The Lite version boasts 260 reviews with a 4.5 star rating and the full release is sitting at 47 reviews supporting 5 stars!! I had not read the reviews in a while and was very thrilled to see so many positive responses.

<iframe

Well, just ask our costumers:

“I give it a solid A. I use it everyday to whip some history on my friends and family” -ebsaint27

“A great way to start off my kid’s day. Mine too of course!!” -Jonezilla

“Checking it everyday. Makes for a great conversation starter” -PATSFAN16

“A pleasant tour of history” -AMF

“If you’re a history Nut, this apps for you. Great sharing features.” -Salnhi

With over half a million downloads for just the iPhone version alone, we’re extremely proud of offering a very straightforward, easy to use, non-overly commercialized application. The fact that it’s an educational application, makes it even a great accomplishment as it has once before, and we’re hoping will again, be in the top 10 education applications. In fact this sucess and love for education and general has actually given us a great new idea for an upcoming project, more on that later.

For now, just remember to keep your eyes peeled for another quaint educational app with a fun twist!

- Andrew

Updating and Beyond!

Blog
<guid
