Tax Estimator
Ever lay around the house wondering how much you’re going to get on your tax returns as you fight off hordes of models and worry about your ferrari being damaged by all the excess cash you had lazily placed on top of it in your money vault?
Yeah, me neither. But sometimes I do wonder how much I’m going to be getting back on my taxes, and if you also wonder this then this application is the answer to your tax estimation problems (you’re left to deal with the models on your own).
Income Tax Estimator ‘08 is a tax estimator that attempts to combine ease of use with realistic and accurate tax estimation.
Thanks to this app you can start planning your vacation come tax season or just see what cool neat things you can buy with your refund (Or vice versa you can start setting aside the money you’re going to owe the lovely IRS).
Income Tax Estimator ‘08 is now available for purchase on the App Store.
Note: An update for the 2009 tax year is slated, but will be released as soon as tax information for the tax year is released, so fret not, your purchase is still useful (or will be again soon).
Tax Estimator ‘08 will give you an accurate estimate on your 2008 tax return. Just because it’s not directly obvious and because we ourselves forget, the 2008 tax year is filed in 2009.
Not only will you have your tax estimate but you can, if you choose to, learn more about income taxes and how the tax system works.

Features of Income Income Tax Estimator ‘08:
- You can not only give you an accurate income tax estimate but allows you to save your estimate results and view them at a later date or even edit them(all estimates are only editable as advanced)
- You will have no reason not to know when your taxes are due. Just to remind you again, they’re due by April 15th, 2009.
- You now have the ability to enter additional income such as Capital gains, dividends, social security, self employment, any losses, etc.
- You now have the ability to add multiple credits, full capabilities for common ones, Earned Income Credit, Child Tax Credit, Child Care Credit, Educational Credits(Hope & Lifetime), and also features a section where you can enter your credits for any other credits you may be receiving.
- You now have the ability to use Itemized Deductions instead of the Standard Deduction. We replicated as much of the schedule A as we saw fit, and we choose the greater of the deductions for your estimate.
- There is a detailed view of your estimate available as part of the results screen. It gives you all the important information that you need to know about your taxes and some extra information.
- We calculate your possible Economic Stimulus rebate.
- We calculate your estimated tax penalty.
Note: Advanced estimate requires a lot more attention and time than basic estimate, but is guaranteed to give you a more accurate result.
For economic stimulus rebate, and tax penalty to be accurate you must pay attention to their respective fields, tax rebate and income withheld. An incorrect amount on those will easily skew the accuracy of your resuts.
